Who was the last guy that the Knicks drafted and made an all-star team for us prior to Lee? Was it Ewing?

Seriously, what if we had just resigned him rather than Amare? I still can't believe that we never made an attempt to bring him back. Talk about establishing a winning culture.

David Lee was a fantasy league stud, as dependable as they come.
My bad, two-time All-Star NBA Champion David Lee.

Whythe hell did you even have to mention that? like it's not depressing enough.bobhait wrote:also, Walsh could have traded him to the Warriors for a draft order flip, which would have given us Steph Curry...

And Mike D was drooling for Curry.....my guess is he'd still be coach here had that happened and the Melo trade would likely not have materialized.gradyandrew wrote: Whythe hell did you even have to mention that? like it's not depressing enough.

DLee...my favorite player on the knicks after the Ewing years and before the KP years.
constant pro...rebounding machine...good passer and great locker room guy.
still remember his dunk contest in HS....dude is the man

None of those two sign with us without Amare joining us first though.cragganmor wrote:...and would have been a better fit between melo and Chandler in the frontcourt than amare
But that's besides the theme. Another thanks to D-Lee for being a bright spot while he was a Knick! Should've been the first rounder breaking the streak of own draft picks without a rookie extension.

Adding Curry to the core they were building at the time, that team would have been awesomely exciting. Instead, they got MD players he didn't want and couldn't use and to this day people still hate and blame MD for everything.Brooklyn wrote:

I think if the Knicks fired Hornacek and gave Lee the job nobody would be mad.

One of my favorite Knicks. A lone bright spot during some rough years.
Sad to see him retire, I always rooted for him once he left the Knicks, but its prob a smart move on his part - got a championship, got paid, made a couple of all-star teams, and now he gets to sit back and be a trophy husband traveling around with his hot tennis wife.
