With not being sure whether we commit to one of our centers on the roster long-term and having traded Hernangomez away, why not take a chance on Robinson? He is just a second-rounder, so we simply hope that he can be a rotation big, not the future starter.

My response was more towards nazr's belief that KP should forever remain a PF if the Knicks cannot acquire a "generational talent" to play power forward long term next to KP.

Which I disagree with that philosophy b/c KP's 7 foot 3 inch frame prevents him from being a full-time PF of any long OR short-term future, especially a 7 foot 3 inch frame coming off of a torn ACL injury.

Of course we should explore big man options and because of Robinson's athletic gifts (HE IS QUICK AT 7 FEET TALL), he is the perfect big man to explore our options on............NOT slow-footed Wendell Carter Jr. that I am thankful the Chicago Bulls took out of our equation before pick #9.

If nazr feels that KP should remain a 4 b/c there is no young power forwards out there worthy of kicking KP to the 5 spot long-term, then our next best option is what we just drafted here........VERY QUICK AND MOBILE CENTERS that are able to respond quickly to defensive rotations on screens involving KP for perimeter players/stretch big men.

Sources: Undrafted Arizona forward Allonzo Trier has agreed to a two-way contract with the New York Knicks.

I’m joking but Trier is a baller he can finish in traffic and he can shoot the lights out I don’t know the full story but off court issues prob kept him out of the draft he’s maybe a borderline 1st round talent

Trier was initially ruled ineligible Feb. 22 after failing a drug screening he had in late January. Arizona immediately appalled the decision on the basis that it was a "minuscule" amount of a substance that the NCAA already decided Trier unknowingly ingested in 2016.

Doesnt sound so bad........hopefully it was just a 1 of moment of stupidity and we land ourselves a steal.

I mean, we did draft Dotson last year that had some off-the-court legal issues himself (theft)...........so I don't see any distractions coming out of this with picking up Trier from the undrafted rookie market.

I like we picked Knox over MPJ (if 13 teams including Philly didn't feel like taking him, his medical reports must have been real shitty). I would have gone with Mikal, but we shot for the star and I appreciate that as well. Knox needs work, but he can be a nice option at SF/PF to complement KP.

With our 2nd round pick, I'd have liked a PF/C rather than a true C but Mitchell Robinson is undeniably a talent. He hasn't played all year and "trained on his own for the draft", so it's another bet. He was referenced as the 3rd best big man behind Ayton and Bamba some time ago. He looks decently mobile, but we lack fresh data and his mentality has been questioned in the past. Hopefully, he matured and trained hard to be ready to give his best here. With KOQ and WHG out, the C logjam no longer exists anyway, and Enes is still in the air.

I'm also excited about the quick Trier pickup. To me it means the FO really saw talent there and this drug thingy doesn't bother me. He looks like a real scoring machine. I hope he shows up on D as well

I like that we now have four possible starters that were drafted by us. All 4 playing different positions and all 4 versatile players being able to play and/or defend multiple positions.

A 1/2 in Ntili, a 2/3 in THJ, a 3/4 in Knox and a 4/5 in KP. Fits very well together and gives us flexibility going forward.

Ex-DePaul star Billy Garrett, currently with the Westchester Knicks, has committed to play for New York in Summer League, per ESPN sources.

I'll give this draft a B+. I really wanted Bridges but as we got closer to the draft saw Knox as probably the second best option. I'm happy that the Knicks have a plan. KP is out anyway. We're investing in players where KP is the senior vet star, not the baby of the team. Only thing that worries me now is this idea that Knox is an answer at PF. I liked him morr when sold as a long wing than a combo forward. I mean, I'm fine with him playing some PF sporadically but I don't really see it for extended minutes.

As far as drafting a C in the second round. I just don't like a player who chose not to play ncaa ball or europe. He looks raw as hell and I just felt there were other players I'd rather have seen us draft. Then again it's the second round where I'll admit I don't really scout that much tbh.

The league is moving towards B&3 bigs, D&3 wings, combo guards. Robinson is very athletic and long, also a genuine rim runner with a growing 3 ball. He fits the modern NBA.

Just need to keep him focused on hoops, working on his game. Out of HS, only Ayton and JJJ were ranked higher at the 5, so the talent is there. The red flag with him was walking out of Western Kentucky, he could have been a lottery pick. We got a bargain.

Not a bad strategy if mpj is injured, had to sit out a year. JV gives them more at the 4 than faried.

They took all of the potential Knicks favorite steals.........Frazier then Vanderbilt.

I hope Orlando fails again next year...........as a 9th seed, so that they get SHIT lottery picks and an even crappier 2nd round pick.
