This kid just keeps showing the maturity and focus that it take s to succeed in the NBA. Taking nothing for granted.

^^  the things Knox can learn from Rod:
1 How to finish at the rim
2 how to pass beautifully off the drive
3 the location of the best clubs and bars in NYC

lol, still love one of my all time favorites showing the rookie the moves; Kentuky connected too. :drunk:

Interesting to hear some ppl mention he's Rudy Gay...but really its funny that some ppl see that as a bad thing.

Tools wise..Rudy was more impressive as a prospect. Longer wingspan...jumped higher.

Both are score first 6'9 fluid wings.

Rudy is better off the post handle and overall defense. Knox better off screens and based off summer league he did what I always felt Rudy missed..hell even felt Knox missed till SL...and thats attacking the rim and playing with some dog in his game.

I always felt Rudy was as talented as any wing in the NBA but that dog in his game set the great ones away from him and off pure talent he dropped 20 a night. barely tried.

if ppl are right that Knox has those tools but has that fight....your looking at a SERIOUS problem...like Pierce/Tracy type guy....which is a top 20 type of player in today's NBA.

Yeah, Rudy never impressed with passion for the game, desire to win. Just did his thing and went home every night. Never grew his game beyond his soph season; a consistently very good player that never quite attained greatness.

If Kev has that hunger, then he's gonna be a helluva player.

his handle and motor on defense and attacking are the main things holding him back.

tobias Harris is another score first guy that doesnt defend great. this is why coaching/ opportunity/ system are so important for players.....I actually think us as an organization check all the boxes for him to succeed more than his skill set.

Kyrie is Rod's godson; another reason why the FA rumors have legs.

Hilarious, Knox dunking on a teenager https://mobile.twitter.com/TheRenderNBA ... 40/video/1

The more and more I watch clips of Knox, the more and more I like his hoop mentality. It’s like, he doesn’t care who you are nor what age. If you step on the court with him, you can expect him.

At he same time, Knox is a teenager himself.

thats somethnig Kobe would do...you guys remember him playing 1 on 1 with a 12 and legit posted him lol like he was taking it dead serious

i think a barometer for him is Brandon Ingram.

Who doyou think is better or will be better? Knox is going into the league heavier...seems a little faster with a scorers mentality. Ingram is longer/better passer/defender(all things i hope Knox gets better at)

but just curious what you guys think.

At this point, I gotta believe Brandon Ingram is a better player. It’d seem like he should be the better player. I understand Knox is compared to Kevin Durant, but to me, Ingram fits KD’s offensive mold more so than Knox. Not sure why Ingram hasn’t taken that next step, maybe he’ll do as much this season?

On another note, man, Calipari has truly seen his share of blue chippers at Kentucky.

Hilarious, Kobe had no conscience.

I tried to find the video on YouTube, but didn’t see it. But I imagine Kobe’s Mamba Mentality would definitely post up a 12 year old.

Ingram I the better player right now. He took over last season and showed he is special even though his shot could improve. I’m not sure he’ll be able to see such a major step next year with lebron and the crazy crew around

your young core is as good as the young cores in other places

Philly Boston and LA are the cores I'm trying to compete with.

KP/Knox/Mario/Frank/Mitch/Mudiay have talent but it's not on their level yet till we see how things pan out but they def can be.

just sucks that I dont see generational talent coming within thr next 2 years. except maybe 1 or 2 players but we will see how the college year goes

LA's young core is not better than ours. None of their guys has as high a ceiling as KP IMO.

true but as a unit...Kuzma/Ingram are pretty dam good...Lonzo is good also but Lebron/Rondo negate his skills a bit.

Ingram may be in a KP level this year....but KP can take strides in his game also.

That team needs guys that shoot AND defend. I think they will need to scrounge around, see what tc cast offs they can get.

Interesting debate..I give LA the nod by the smallest of margins

Frank vs Ball... Slight edge to Ball
Knox vs Kuzma.. Kuzma till Knox plays against real NBA comp
KP vs Ingram.. KP,but injury does pose a question
Mudiay vs Hart... Hart, till Mudiay proves otherwise
