Name the best Knicks player in each category

Postby shakespeare » August 10, 2018, 2:42 pm

Since we’re always discussing a player’s weakness, I decided to give credit where credit is due regarding strengths.

Scoring: Porzingis
Shooting: Porzingis
Dunks: Knox
Playmaking: Ntilikina
Rebounding: Kanter
Defense: Ntilikina
Handles:
Passing:
Shotblocking: Porzingis, but I believe Robinson will outdo him
Basketball IQ:
Clutch: Porzingis

I’m stumped on best handles, best passer and highest basketball IQ, though.
The Porzingis blessing is real.

I love how even when trying to focus on the positives, we cant even pick guys for SEVERAL catergories

We could argue Hardaway is the best playmaker. Or even KP. Mudiay is a big question mark. Burke was a beast in terms of breaking down defenses so he deserves mention.

Id give Lance the nod on BBall IQ.

i actually agree with him. there's no way he would still be in the NBA if that wasn't the case. He has no other redeeming qualities.

Yeah, Im serious

He understands the game. He understands his strengths and weaknesses. You dont see Lance ever trying to go beyond his skillset.

The biggest thing is he understands how important communication on defense is. He never stops talking and he is always getting guys into the right spots defensively. I feel like thats a good player to have around your youth. You want them to pick up these attributes.

I don't get the poster who put Burke for Basketball IQ. To me it's Lee, although I can see an argument for Lance. No one else on the team is really close.

Not sure who is a good candidate for clutch. Maybe Burke. Maybe KP. Maybe Kanter?

Low assist to turnover ratio that many do not put high premium on.

LT may be the leader communicator , which to me is more of EQ, but the PG is still the CEREBRAL quarterback who aggressively scores, facilitates and takes good care of the ball.

I always loved Lance. His inconsistency can be frustrating, but i love his approach.

This was crazy:

One of the integral roles for Thomas, the longest-tenured Knick and their defensive specialist, is teaching and grooming the two young draft studs — 18-year-old Kevin Knox and 20-year-old Mitchell Robinson — during this rebuilding.

NK. I’m surprised to see Beasley listed under Basketball IQ. I’d always considered well-rounded players like Chris Paul and LeBron James as players with high basketball intelligence.

What made you consider Beasley? Care to elaborate?
