So Kevin Knox isn't going to start the Knicks season opener. Both Trey Burke and Frank Ntilikina will start, alongside Kanter and THJ and Lance

David Fizdale says he felt, in part, the decision to start Frank Ntilikina was based on wanting to establish a strong culture with the Knicks. So Ntilikina earned it and it was important to give it to him based on merit. He believes the decision will also spark Kevin Knox, who he'd previously said would start on opening night.

Knox coming off the bench doesn't mean he will play just with other bench players. With two point guards starting it is IMO likely that one will still be on the court, when Knox' number is called for the first time. And if Trier doesn't pass the ball (with Mudiay out and Lee still getting back up to speed), Baker might also be in the rotation to play minutes at the point.

You can't favor the teenager. The other players would've been cynical. Fiz building the team the right way. Everyone knows Knox will be a starter soon enough.
