We are doing a total rebuild around Melo, our fourth pick in this year's draft and a combined 45 mill in cap space in 2015 and 2016.

Melo is being fine. Nowitzki won his first ring with 33, Pierce his with 31, Garnett his with 32, Allen with 32, ... Duncan is still playing fantastic at 39...

The system fits Melo as good as it fit Jordan and Kobe, maybe even better, because Melo is the best three point shooter among the iso group and probably a better post-up player than Kobe, so when staying in the offense he can be pretty damn good.

At 4 we have a shot at a real difference maker, whether it will be Okafor, Russell or Mudiay. All of them are projected to have it in them to become stars, so that's what you should role with your highest draft pick since the Ewing draft. Some scouts also count Porzingis into the first-tier. Five guys being called worthy of the number one pick (with Towns the one who will definitely not fall to 4), but you wanna trade that pick away to take on players that are worse than those that we can get with the 45 mill in combined cap space over two years and you want to take a lower draft pick to accomplish that? That just doesn't make any sense. At all. None.

A guy like Lawson for example is really a bad fit for the triangle, because he has to play in an up-tempo system, not in a half-court system. But that isn't even the point. If a team like Denver wants to get rid of Lawson's contract and you want to have him, you can just absorb him with your cap space while offering far less than a pick swap. Totally unnecessary and off the board for a team in our situation.

We started the total rebuild and tanked to get a high pick in this years draft. That's our second building block after Melo. The third will be free agency.

But nonetheless: welcome to the board.

thanks for the welcome and to be honest you make a lot of valid points but i guess where we differ is in melo you see all those others made the people around them better melo never has melo never will one last thought none of those players broke down physcially melo will not age well
