Welcome to the seventh annual NYKFP Mock Lottery Competition! Post your prediction of the lottery picks (1-14) using the template below. Up for grabs, as always, is the right to brag. Below the template is the scoring system. I will judge and the post the results at the end of the thread by Saturday, June 25. The 2011 NBA Draft will be televised on ESPN on Thursday, June 23 at 7:00 PM EST.
Regulations: Copy/paste the below template into your message body and replace the question marks with the name of a draft entrant. The scoring system requires you to guess the spot at which the player is drafted, not which team the player ends up with. In short, do not factor trades into your mock. You will receive up 10 points for correctly predicting the player the Knicks draft. You will not be penalized for incorrectly predicting New York's selection.
1) Cleveland - ???
2) Minnesota - ???
3) Utah - ???
4) Cleveland - ???
5) Toronto - ???
6) Washington - ???
7) Sacramento - ???

9) Charlotte - ???
10) Milwaukee - ???
11) Golden State - ???
12) Utah - ???
13) Phoenix - ???

Scoring: The scoring system used by rtn393 is based on the nba.com system. If you guess a pick correctly, you receive 14 points. If you are off by one position, you receive 13, off by two is 12, and so on. If a player you entered is not chosen in the lottery, you receive 0 points.
You may edit your selections (using the "Edit" button on the top right corner of your submitted post) until 7:00 PM EST on the night of the draft.

13) Phoenix - Jonas Valanciunas
14) Houston - Marcus Morris
17) New York - Alec Burks - Truly a steal if he falls this far. Billups mentors him as well.
I'll actually be on a flight during the draft, so when I land and gain internet access I'll judge the mocks and determine the winner.

BTW: I can't believe that nobody here has Burks in the top ten. Everybody (including me) seems to buy too much into draftexpress. But because Burks is my number one target, I'm happy if everybody is right. I don't really believe it though. But I get a feeling that at least one great prospect will fall to us. Hope our staff picks it then and doesn't overvalue a guy that came up late with a great workout but still would be a reach at 17.

That gimpy looking push shot of his will make teams pause, and he lacks range.spree#8 wrote:BTW: I can't believe that nobody here has Burks in the top ten. The 2011 NYKFP Mock Lottery Competition Champion is nyknicksfan27!
I don't know how he did it, but nyknicksfan27 somehow amassed 178 points in one of the worst, but most unpredictable drafts in a long while. Well done. I'd like to thank everyone who participated for taking the time to create a mock and I hope to see you all again next year.
