The Philadelphia 76ers are going all in on Joel Embiid, regardless of the status of his health.
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Sixers and Embiid have agreed to a monster five-year, $148M extension. This is the maximum extension the Sixers could give Embiid on the rookie scale.

6ers can't possibly pay Embiid, Saric, Simmons, and Fultz before Embiid's contract ends. Or should I say before it officially ends in regret. Joel has never gone 5 years without significant injury, surgery.

Is it too early for Ben Simmons to New York?

I'm literally cringing right now......literally.

I get that Embiid proved his worth last season when he was healthy, but that was it........WHEN HE WAS HEALTHY. Embiid still hasn't past the second test when it comes to deserving a max contract........HEALTH.

31 games played in three seasons, 148 mill extension in the pocket. Sounds about right ... says the Sixers braintrust.

Just learned that Embiid's contract extension gives 6ers an out for re-occurring injuries https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbsspo ... n-out/amp/

I'm kind of rooting for the 76ers but simultaneously a little scared as a Knicks fan. From what I read reported it sounds like the 76ers really covered their bases with the incentives of this contract. And as we all know stars tend to get paid like stars regardless of injuries.

It's gonna be forever or it's gonna go down in flames.
