The Houston Rockets are among the teams that will have interest in Carmelo Anthony once he secures his free agency, according to league sources

Melo for Noah and Lee plus 2 second rounders.
Melo never reports as Knicks waive him instantly.

I did not like that contract one bit. What was the market for CP3? Who had max money for him? Houston should have played hard ball.big_j_NY wrote:You should be hoping for Houston that CP3 gets a knee transplant for both his bum knees
Being in LA, I know the story of Paul's body failing him at the absolute worst times so that was a massive risk by Houston.

It would be nice if we could pull off a trade to clear those contracts off our books, but that would still leave OKC with the same tax bill?nazrmohamed wrote:Melo for Noah and Lee plus 2 second rounders.

For me I think Melo could decide to go to the Lakers to be LeBron's number two guy, but I could see him going to Miami to be their go to scorer.

Yeah Idk how the tax bill works. I mean, how do you trade Melo, an expiring without taking back equal salary. I thought from thier perspective maybe they'd be happy to get Lee and 2 second rounders, maybe just stretch Noah themselves. It wouldn't be us who gets the picks.
Melo will look way more comfortable with pass oriented playmakers around him (Lebron/rondo/ball or cp3/Harden) and a movement system. OKC was almost completely iso and he's clearly past that point in his career. Now he'll actually start to look more like USA Melo.
Or he could go Miami which would also work well.

If Melo signs with Houston, it’ll be the ultimate life lesson learned.
I bet Melo, after being the reason D’Antoni was fired in New York, never in a million years believed he’d need him.
Life is funny like that.

Well both habe changed. Last year the Rockets spent more time in iso than any other team, for a Dantoni led team that's saying a lot. On Melos end I read all season that he had deferred ALOT, played off the ball. Of course he had his moments to do his thing but he kept it to a minimum. The issue was that even with those behaviors he was just off. Maybe it was the adjustment, maybe as crazy as it sounds Harden and George iso too much.shakespeare wrote:If Melo signs with Houston, it’ll be the ultimate life lesson learned.

But all I'm saying is that you put all that in a blender, Melo accepts his role in Houston and things might work out for him. In terms of having a decent final run to his career. His days of being even a second option are over, might even have to say 6th man.
