I wish the 7 people who voted for Jeff Van Gundy could repick, Jeff is NOT even a candidate for the job. Curious to see who their 2nd person would be.

Love the quote by Perry about building a defensive-minded team

If I could revote, it would be Fizdale hands down.

Ex-Knicks point guard Mark Jackson, according to @ChrisBHaynes, meets with the Knicks on Wednesday. It's believed that Fizdale will also meet with the Knicks this week after New York launched its interview process by sitting down first with Jerry Stackhouse https://t.co/raniz8vIBM

I picked Blatt and will continue to endorse Blatt. I don't get where this Stackhouse love is coming b from. I'm assuming it's the perception that any dark horse name means thinking outside the box. I get he won in the D-league but if anyone understands the D-league it's close to street ball compared to other leagues. If I'm purposely trying to avoid retread nba coaches I'm gonna rank international then college then D-league. And trust me, I got some retreads mixed in there too....But still above D-league where guards rule and everybody just jacking up shots. I just don't think it's yet a good venue to develop coaches in but it could qualify Stackhouse as a good assistant coach. I got no problem with him on the bench but his boss should be Blatt in my opinion.

Interesting read with some alarming specifics about MJs tenure as HC of GSW

Gotta admit that I never followed him closely, now I understand the hard line against him. Personally, I like the way the Spurs have managed their franchise.

Ewing would’ve been my first choice.cheftom wrote:Sadly, Ewing has a job.
Becky Hammon is my third choice.
Jason Kidd, not a candidate, was my second choice.

just to change the lane of thinking a little bit in regards to "who" you want.
What are the main questions/concerns would you ask a coaching candidate and what are the things you are looking for in the next coach?
for me:
what is there principle on defending the pick and roll?
do you force movement baseline or free throw area?
what shots are valued the most in his offense?
Do you have a system you intend to run? if so how is it best for KP/Frank? If not how do you plan to build the offense
What position fits KP best to your style of play?
those are general broad questions i'd dive into before getting into details.
and overall I'm looking for a coach thats more of strategic guy that is ok with analytics and is comfortable to challenge his players but in a way that its receptive. Like Jeff calling KP a "pu**y" while it can be accurate and most likely is...i just wish we had a guy that can think what Jeff thought..but know the proper way to communicate to KP to get the best out of him. Belittling through a 3rd party isnt the way to get the best out of your star player. And having a coach that defends the franchise and the franchise defending the coach i think is the best way to go. I'd also what our coach to play the young guys...win or lose
