But many of the ones people were comming up with were mentioned in this thread six months ago.......and they're some great ones I always forget.
This account's username, email address, and IP address were all previously flagged in external forum spam databases, and has now been banned here as well.willy66 wrote: ↑July 4th, 2023, 9:51 am It's always fun to reminisce about NBA player nicknames, and I appreciate you sharing some of your favorites. Those nicknames truly added an extra layer of excitement and personality to the game.
"Truck" Leonard Robinson, "Pistol Pete" Pete Maravich, "Iceman" George Gervin, "The King of Pain" Maurice Lucas, "The Chief" Robert Parish, "Sky" Kenny Walker, and "The Human Highlight Film" Dominique Wilkins—each of these names has left a lasting impression on basketball fans. They captured the unique skills and styles of these players, making them even more memorable.
And while nicknames like "J-Rich," "T-Mac," and "C-Webb" may be more straightforward, they still carry a sense of familiarity and recognition among fans.
Haha, that comment about Joe Barry Carroll during the 1990 season with the Golden State Warriors brought a smile to my face. It's amazing how some witty remarks can stick with us and become part of the NBA lore.
Thank you for sharing these nicknames and the entertaining comment. It's always enjoyable to dive into the rich history of NBA and its colorful characters. Feel free to share more if you have any!
I want forum members to recognize that this is a less common but increasingly prevalent fake content generation pattern than your average forum spam that generates paragraphs of nonsense and sometimes advertises scams and bullshit.
This is necroposting, remixing the OP's content in new sentence structures, not adapting the content to colloquial speech, writing in uncannily perfect sentence structure (leave that shit up to me, and only after I edit my own posts about 33 times), and adding absolutely no new insight whatsoever. Honestly, I think the output is worse than something created by ChatGPT because it's not able to follow and then build on context.
As it turns out, kind of. More like Russian spyware.
I learned today from discussing with another forum admin that this unnatural conversation bot spam is actually a seed-planting operation. If the admin leaves the spam/bot account untouched, the party responsible for the account will edit the post a month or two later after people aren't paying attention anymore and insert a link to some malware.
I guess the success of this operation depends on admins/mods who don't pay attention because it's otherwise a lot easier to catch a spammer or malware sharer on their first post.
