Some of perry's moves made no sense, the only thing i give him credit for was keeping the Cap flexible, but he never came out on top of any trade he's every pulled the trigger on, could not recruit any top players
Melo was traded for trash
KP was traded for trash
Knox, was the dumbest trade of the 3
The best 2 trades the knicks have made in a decade (Rose and hart) was not on him..
We have some half ass protected picks we may never be able to use, as we saw this yr

Just a Rumor! That guy is never right!
Game 7 Knicks vs Lakers
“Red Holtzman: You know my mama wanted me to be a farmer.
Willis Reed: My dad wanted me to be a basketball player.
Red Holtzman: Well you're better than any player I ever had. And you're the best God damn Center I ever saw. Suit up.”

I think Leon has final say on everything. Probably like most NBA teams.
Where I think the Knicks are different, is Leon is more active in the negotiations AND final decision.
Some club presidents may hire the GM and allow that person to make the deals. I think Leon is in on the deals, then determines whether to accept it or not.
In other words, we don't need a real GM so long as Leon is here.

SUPER SCRUB GM gets to sneak under the radar as one of the worst knick gms ever because fanbase hates Mills.
Perry brought in a ton of trash from his previous organizations and sold KP for pennies on the dollar as the GM.
anywho i think this means knicks are trading for KP now that this doofus is gone.
maybe wishful thinking on my part but KP looked really good last year and IQ is a baltimore native or some shit right?

I agree with this.rebound wrote: ↑May 31st, 2023, 12:19 pm SUPER SCRUB GM gets to sneak under the radar as one of the worst knick gms ever because fanbase hates Mills.

My only concerns are these.
Scott Perry wasn't great at his job. But he had a track record of being VERY conservative.
Is that the reason Leon is letting him go. So there will be no pushback on crazy ass trade ideas? Will CAA Inc. now have free reign and and trade the farm for a 32 y/o Damian Lillard?
Among 263 players to log 1,000 or more minutes, Lillard's defensive rating ranked No. 242.

im expecting it to be KP or Towns. Brunson seemed to have a good relationship with KP, and Perry being here was never going to allow for a KP returnGheppetto wrote: ↑May 31st, 2023, 12:28 pm I agree with this.

At least those two are only 28.
Porzingis had an incredible year last year. Top 3 Center in PER. Top 4 Center in Scoring. Top 10 Center in Blocks. 38.5% from 3pt.
(You will have to do your own research to see the names of the other players that performed at his level)
KAT only played 29 games last season but, is a multiple time All-Star / All NBA level player.
If either of these guys can be gotten, while keeping RJ, Brunson, and Randle in tact ... do it!!

I like RJ.
But if you are concerned about culture and continuity.
I think you run back the big three of your best team in many years.
I’m not sure Leon is concerned about continuity or culture btw. I think he and Thibs would take winning over either of those things.

I'm more shocked with Randle making the cut. Even more so if the target is KP or KAT.
I'm afraid to ask but: is Mitch the valuable asset that you're sending in exchange? Meaning they have similar value (+/- a IQ in the package)? You really have to stop overvaluing Mitch

yes, let’s not overvalue the dude who helped us win the Cleveland series so decisively. listen, Mitch may have ended up looking overmatched against Bam, but had Julius decided to grace us with his presence during the Miami series, we might have still been playing now.
sky’s the limit
How does KP fit in our system? I don't see it!

KP can opt out. So we would be able to just sign him after clearing salary. Washington could help with a sign and trade, but that would be up to them.NewlyKnicked wrote: ↑June 1st, 2023, 3:42 am I'm more shocked with Randle making the cut. Even more so if the target is KP or KAT.

The Minnesota thing for KAT would be a crazy thing as they have Gobert already.
But, they gave away the farm to get Gobert, maybe they would be interested in a deal built around draft capital, Quickley, Toppin, Hartenstein. Doesn’t seem like a good deal for them, but they are on the verge of being a luxury tax team and not making the playoffs.
